Since 2007, Cox Charities has awarded more than $2.9 million in grants to Southern Nevada non-profit organizations that support education, diversity and environment/sustainability. It was created as a result of employees interest in the giving strategies of the company.

Cox Charities is a partnership with Nevada Community Foundation and is funded primarily by Cox employee contributions. A committee comprised entirely of Cox employees, reviews all grant applications and selects the recipients. The Cox Charities Advisory Board, also employee-led, approves the grants and awards the monies. The program is also funded through a variety of fundraisers including an annual Cox Charities Golf Tournament, an annual Cox Charities Poker Tournament and an annual Cox Charities Bowling Tournament.
